  • was thinking about colorforms(reproduction of classic kit) a while back. they still make them. spongebob, classic, calendar, green eggs and ham, photoalbum, make your own, dexters lab, strawberry shortcake, the lorax, and many others.

  • happy mardi gras

    iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
    neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddd
    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
    shooooooooooooooooooower.

but other than that, peachy. the wound on the eye is almost gone. started another decorative wooden, painted plaque for the house walls. nunghui, i'll post the story of her and her son when we finish the plaque and i take pics of it.

2 more days of the mardi gras season and we have managed to go to zero parades, collect zero trinkets, get stepped on by zero people. tomarrow may be different (mardi gras day).***(see below)

think i will attempt tofu burgers tonight or tomarrow, finally. got some firm tofu. gunna drain it, crumble it. mix it with ginger, paprika, sauteed trinity, carrot, soy, worchestershire, crumbs, and maybe an egg to bind (i thought the tofu already binded well, but i am a newbie to tofu anything, so using the egg just in case).

picked up some azaleas for the front of the house, one for the back. and a fern for the bathroom upstairs. actually the fern is a starter...i have it in soil and waiting for it to grow into the fern. the juniper pine seeds for the bonzai didn't take, so i'm growing a pear in the medium.

picked up some fishing stuff so we can go cane fishin soon. sean wants to wait til we have a canoe...i want to fish NOW. yes, i am alergic/sensitive to all waterfood, but that doesn't mean i still don't try! i love fishing, actually.

and what else. i still have too much earwax that the q-tips won't seem to remove for me. my kitties ate out of my sister-in-laws hand on saturday night...she's thier new friend. she came inn with catfood and started feeding them. i think it scared her a little when dominoe saw the food, pounced on to the floor and came toward her with those big..."i love food" eyes. i have lots to do that i put off doing before the weekend and was then a lazy bitch all weekend. dishes will be done. shower will be taken.

*** it was brought to my attention that the above entry sounded as if i was unhappy with lack of mardi gras activity. what i meant to say was: yae! no cluttering necklaces, dubloons, plastic knives, balls, etc to clutter up the place. hurrah! no hurt feet from being stomped on. woohoo! didn't get sick going out in the up and down weather! not spending weekend in parade traffic! first year of not getting sick from king cake! having more fun doing other things while everyone else is parading! time for trying new foods that aren't filled with sugar! just watching this fern not grow.

  • :)

since crash was a wee boy, his main form of enjoyment has been hurting people.

    mainly me.

my arms have formed a leathery surface...scar tissue

today he got me once more

doesn't look like much, but he just missed doing actually damage to my eye again. i think he snagged a vessle or something. there was instantly a purple lump, a lot of blood at first, but it's all good now. just a little sting. the cut actually goes right up to the eyelashes.  about 1/2 inch long.

people would tease me "well, you're always up in his face, or belly (kisses)." really, though, i'm not usually like right there, he reaches out for me. and like today...we were playing with a toy. then as he runs to go after it, he somehow gets shifted, and tags the eye instead of the toy. it's like his arms stretch out wider and longer than he realises. he's a fool.

  • tortilla 101

WHY can't i take my own advice? (i already typed all this up once and forgot to copy it, and it got disappeared, lemme see if i can do it again)

    knead 5 minutes, rest 15, roll 1/8th inch, 1 1/2 min. cook each side @ 420.

the one above was the last one, it looks real good. one below is well done but still edible. there is a stack that are way overdone, they resemble cardboard- i tried to do them in the oven, but wasn't paying attention . so i had to make another batch to try in the pan.

finally got to try it, with apricot preserves. what it tasted like? flat bisquit. preserves make everything better.

things like this that don't come out exactly like they do commercially, are great for camping trips. by the time dinner time rolls around, we're hungry...that flat bread dipped in gravy and potatoes and soup....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    happy happy happy

    day spidey!!!

it's your first birthday, being married!!!

gunna try to make homemade tortillas this morning. actually i got up at 6am something. thought i could whip up a batch of tortillas , like *that* so i could eat one with honey for breakfast. no such luck. mix up mix, let sit to rise for 15 minutes, etc. so, i'm here

i read a bunch of varied subscriptions. different physical ages, different job situations, different hobbies, different lifestyles, different hang-ups. we all have one thing in common, we hang at xanga. maybe it's once a month, once a week or every day. we all use it as a soapbox. i think most people enjoy the interaction of strangers, else we wouldn't have joined. i want to meet more xanga people. i can't believe there are like so few for meet ups (i hear it's like that in a few other cities from my readers, also).

nah, i didn't fuck myself. and besides i can't ask them to pick up the butts if they didn't put them there, i am really thinking it is the mower dude. and if it isn't him, then that girl who used to live here, musta been a visitor last weekend and did it out of old spite. you know icp has this song with ODB, 'bitches.' i like that song a lot.

them butts have fingerprints , i see CSI, i know it can all be tracked. and you, who, said "...karma...butts", yeah, you right, it will.

ok, so, like pics another time of the tortillas, hopefully they rose.

  • t swing y swing l swing e chop n chop o chop l

  • man, FUCK these neighbors. cigarettes. yeah, i smoke 'em, but i don't leave them in other peoples yards!!! i went out today, just to see. they were mostly on thier side of the grass, but that shit isn't biodegradable, if i see it, it might as well be on my blade of grass. trashy. it makes the yards look trashy. the girl and her friend pulled up while i was still cleaning them up. no apology, no questions, she just ignored me. now, i don't want to bitch about it right off, cause i dunno if the new neighbors left the butts or if the guy who mows the grass leaves them there. or if we have a squatter. i have yet to notice a squatter.

yeah, i know i don't really have anything else to complain about, so i have to bitch about the butts. the other things i don't like, i deal with. i don't know why i can't just get used to doing a cigarette butt round up. maybe cause IT SHOULDN'T BE MY JOB to clean up others' trash. so, this time i buy them an ashtray and leave it on the stoop?

it's gotta be the guy who mows thier grass. i think he is an ex of the woman who rents the place out. i have heard that man bitch and complain about mowing that yard, but he still does it. so i guess to pay her back he leaves butts which only i, in the entire world seems to notice.

oh yeah, did i say dude who talked to us last night ...his sister is friends with the girl who lived here the time before....the one who would flick her marlboroughs by our house from her back door while the trash can was 3 feet away. fuckin dandy, right?  it's still marlborough butts i'm picking up.

ok,and so myprob lies with the owner and not the neighbors. i understand now. it's all good.

  • tomarrow is SPIDEY'S birthday, go tell her happy day! spidey, you want to post pics of your b-day presents? lol, i dunno when we will see you, the traffic seems to be a bitch fri-sun... during this season.

ok, so after i had told the neighbor not to park inbetween the houses, that weekend, last weekend, he has company over, they pull across our yard (across water meter) to park on grass.

last night, while we were outside, the new neighbor popped his head over and apologized for any inconvienience he may have caused. he also asked "where he could park, in front of the house?"

i answered, "yes, ON THE STREET, in front of our house is fine." i also suggested they have thier friends park where our friends have to park....a few houses down at the lawyers office. haven't gotten around to telling him he'll have to pull on the sidewalk if we get flooded this may. oh, and they have a cute, big dog that they love, his name is george, he looks like a trimmed huge poodle.

so me and sean feel at ease about not rushing into putting up a border between the yards. i still want a hedgerow. this weekend would still be good, to do that. mardi gras is coming up...the more drunk people get, the more likely they are to park on the yard.

...ugh....the more likely they are to run over the hedgerow or fall on it.

i said the other neighbors' dog is gone, yes? yeah, they must have finally given him to a better home, or something.

termites. keep forgetting to pick up some kind of termite spray. when cleaning out the garage, noticed termites had gotten into all our scrap wood and part of the garage frame need to take care of it asap. need to do roof tiling on back porch...i want it all done this weekend and what else...

picked up some cheesey dogs and smoked sausage to grill up for mardi gras if we still end up having a microparty for it. we had sausage for dinner last night, with broc. and caul. yes, it was as tasty as it could have been. and donuts...i picked up donuts. i've half of them already...more than half...oops, i guess the rest are for sean.

finally painted the trim in back room.

picked up tickets for the 18th annual oilfield chili cookoff. it's gunna be at the boomtown casino in harvey again this year (march 15). it's cool, we get to try all kinds of chili, occasionally get prizes (handouts-cups, golf tees, etc) from the booths, AND the $$$ goes to local charities and reliefs, and navy and marine corp. last year there was 200 or 300 chilis? and i tried them all. if there will be more booths, more different chili...i have no idea how i'll be able to try them all. but you know i will do my BEST. ever watch fear factor...when they eat spleens and spines and end up with gooey stuff all over thier face...that'll be me. it'll probably ooze out my ears and nose. and then we'll go out for dessert......bleah

maybe we skip dessert this year.

  • looking at some old links, found kabalarian philosophy brief name analysis pages...blog, death, hunnigood, life, phoenix, wind, sunshine, fiver, destin, seren...

...corny about some things. corny/passionate, aren't they just different ways of expressing fondness. must make cake. dying for a coconut bunni cake. made a photobooth area in my home. (rather have a real photobooth)... but setting up the digital, a stool and coloured backgrounds works just dandy!!! add the white border to give it that boothness. only bummer, if people want copies, only black and white available. so far i rounded up a yellow background, an orange, grey and the buff wall. need a blue and a maroon/red curtain still. no canoe this weekend. we're gunna figure out rack conditions first, having a hard time finding something easy for sean jeep, not sure if we want to be limited to using my jeep though for canoing, either.

doom and gloom. expressing alleviates. reading aggravates. so many so similar. all right there but so far away. no time. no facilities. ride already in motion. clickclickclickclickclickclickclick.breathe. pain. thinking til thinking doesn't make sense anymore. same in same out. complications. drudgery. stagnant.fresh air. sunny breeze. happy clouds. smiling dogs. take good with bad. even though bad interupts good and smashes it from memory.

  • fun with photoshop, spidey, here's your test about the pics...

  • a canoe. looks like going out last weekend has brought us to realise, we would like to canoe as a new activity. gunna look for a 2-person one this weekend. i still want to walk and ride bikes though, cause i hate sitting still. but there was something cool/primitive about oaring thru black water, not getting wet, and it felt good to use plain old person-power. once i really get used to manuvering, i bet it'd be neat to get some close-up pictures of the gators. can't eat much seafood, but sure would like to fish off the canoe atleast once.

comment i made on wickedkittys site about canoe: i think i flipped a canoe over when i was very young, so i always think in the back of my head (about many things) "even though it all seems simple enough, with my luck, the worst will happen". and it usually does. the big thing for me was 'don't move too much'. i attempted to reach for something at one point in time and my S.O., after feeling the boat rock TOO much, was like " NO, you stay there, i'll throw it to you, we no want to tip over the boat!!!" it just freaked me out to know there were alligators sleeping right under the boat. the canoe lady told us the water was only about 3 feet deep, in the same breathe, she's like " the alligators are sleeping at the bottom, them won't bother you". if i fall in and step on them, i am sure they will have a problem with me!!! but yeah, not being able to see thru the black water is scary, but now that i think about it....not sure if i would really want to see EVERYTHING i was paddling over. gosh, i just don't know. i'll be thinking about it all day!

speaking of seafood. thanks, spidey for inviting me to the crawfish boil. i feel loved, but yes, you are right, the smell may bloat me up and give me hives. the invitation is much appreciated though, it's similar to being involved (to atleast know what is going on). but, yeah, sean and i had planned to hopefully buy a canoe on saturday...so we may end up being tied up all weekend with that, trying to get a luggage rack for the green jeep, or otherwise figuring out how to transport it. and HOPEfully, we'd like to go canoing sat. and sunday...inbetween any house chores we may have. sean is soooooo hyped, me too.

and here is a pic of spidey with the babe. thought it was cute cause he was crying and she looked up and, well, it was just funny...had to be there i guess. and the pic to the right is him, a week old, with a friend of the parents, a cable guy.

my kitchen is grey right now. purple tiles on the lower half of the wall, and some thin black tile trim inbetween. i decided a long time ago to brighten and warm it up in there it needed yellow. not everyone agreed. so i took it into photoshop and used variations to get it yellow. other than that we woulda done it an ethereal blue colour, but that would have been too close to grey. i love grey, but not in the kitchen. i feel like the yellow goes with the origin of the house. (30's/40's) i mean look at it....that yellow kicks ass with the black and purple!!! i took many painting and art classes in school, so i know what will make things pop.....but for some reason my decisiions seem extreme or extremely ugly to people....but they work. i may not be good with emphasising a style in the house, so it sometimes looks like a swap meet, but colour, for reaching a certain feeling, i am good at. with colour alone i have been trying to get my house to resemble what it used to look like when it was built in 1937 (or 1932, it's been a few months since i looked at what date it was born). it looks like purple was upstairs, but i believe that was an addition upstairs, from the 80's, so i think we may put that ethereal blue up there. everytime i look at the swimming pool green, in most of the rest of the downstairs...i know it is shocking for some, but i totally feel back in the 40's with it. it may be a little sterile looking, but it isn't tacky.
