she... not to all be tellin peoples business, but it is so cool to know my sister... is a glass blower. she works at a shop somewhere. that was saturday eve/sunday morning got up late heading out for fathers day. that was awesome too. saw the matrixrl saturday afternoon. eh... i look forward to pirates of the caribbean and sinbad legend of the seven seas. i have a pocket brain now so i've transferred all my lists to it...very handy indeed no paper everywhere anymore
now everything will get finished. made a pyramid mirror. had a broken mirror corner, piece of plywood with a triangle cut in it, added some slits straight through for other background pyramids, painted gold and black, and a gold spiral sun/moon. and duct taped the mirror to the back

and happy fri tha 13

double hitter winner on tuesday!!! only bread type of item left in the house was tortilla flour mix. made some meat bean and cheese stuffed pockets (about equal parts: black bean, colby cheese, roastbeef, your choice of seasoning). for dessert to go with the left over icecream, i stuffed some smaller pockets with peach, sugar and cinnamon. once assembled (see pic.s above), spray cookpan with canola, put pocket in thurr, spray top with canola. place lid on top (to help make sure filling gets warmed up good enough to melt cheese), 1-2 minutes each side, til you know it's crispy and not doughy anymore. wednesday i tried it again with ground turkey, cheese and beens. i liked it better with the sliced beef...was like a philly cheese steak but without the onion.
yup, we got several caterpillars and ripe tomatoe and pepper
.

caladium had a bloom, the dahlias have about 5. the azaleas up front died.
this for hunnimon(hm), pic of his slanted girl out on the porch.

natural pesticides i keep reading about, they don't seem to work for the gnat flies i got in my house a while back...but it's something like put in a spray bottle: some liquid soap, garlic. i put in onion and cayenne too, which is why i mumbled about it, i also use my spray bottle to cool off male cat temper, he ended up smelling like stew for a week. supposedly the soap make the bugs go 'ew' and everyone knows garlic keeps everything away
i have been having issues with slugs, and spidey and her hm told me that the slug bait they found was non-toxic/organic, look forward to finding and trying it. the slugs attack the dahlias, other flowery things and the potatoes. some of their damage looks like the caterpillar damage, but you can see slime trails.
great weekend wishes, happy d-day, clocks by coldplay(song that keeps going thru my head all week). that's right.
i've been adjusting mail accounts to get people to unsub me from these various mailing lists that OTHER people end up giving my address to. i have opted for putting up a vacation( /this is a defunct address, don't email it) responce and it's actually working to get people to take me off lists(i thought it would be just the opposite, but i have have had significantly less email since i have done this! speaking of which...anyone know a joshua hendrix (beamman3@yahoo.com)? or his betsy? tell that bitch to stop writing me, this is what was sent to one of my mail accounts:
hear that lonesome whipperwill
he sounds to blue to fly
the midnight train is whinning low
im so lonesome i could cry
ive never seen a night so long
when time goes crawling by
the moon just waits behind a cloud
to hide its face and cry
did you ever hear a robin weap?
when leaves begin to die?
that means hes lost the will to live
im so lonesome i could die
the silence of a fallen star
lights up a purple sky
as i wonder where you are
im so lonesome i could cry
the words from this song are
50 years old but i cry evertime
i hear them betsy i love you bye.
it's not on me. he who made graphics hath fixed them. love not lost. love not free. i love you but u not me. we all enjoy to be. who we are with individuality.

the caterpillars, may be hornworms says hunni...and below is a possible organic way of dealing with them...if you have space, mine are in pots. from http://www.organicpathways.co.nz/story.cfm?StoryID=31 :"non-killing approach to the green caterpillar problem. Companion planting with tomatoes, sage, thyme, rosemary, and hyssop which serve as repellents." by Monica
trapped some, have 'em in a jar. the big one decided to cocoon. was looking to see how long he'd do that. if the cat finds it with wings before i do, it's a catsnack. and found this kinda interesting history of an ant colony journal.
"no planetarium for you"
thier light or something was broke. we went to celebration station instead and noticed a deal on pizza, drink and tokens we'll have to do another weekend. i got enough tickets to get a change purse with kitty design on it (old one had holes in it), an eraser and a sourpatch candy for the man. next time i'll have my eyes set on the red metal ring and matching bracelet. the purple jewelry was cool too and i bet with the other two colours, the yellow would be happy also. and there was a yellow bead necklace with smiley faces on it.

going to use up the last of my flours to make that homemade bisquick mix i mumbled about a while back...have several to try. most call for 8-10 cups flour...i only have one cup. i did find one recipe i'm gunna try (that bases with only one cup flour)after i look at what the rest break down to and compare.
also found this neato page (and several others) on master mix recipe-a-likes. i keep looking around for recipes i can bottle and use camping. they were working on a carnation instant breakfast mix but it wasn't instant. this week i've gone back on the liquid food. i get in moods. sometimes the liquid just doesn't feel like enough, but other days it makes me feel great!
entered a couple recipe contests yesterday. pulled 3 caterpillars off the tomatoes!!! i can't believe how long these tomatoes are taking to ripen.
also gave both cats baths. water everywhere. somehow i didn't get clawed!!! poor girl cat, the brushing just isn't good enough to get rid of that 2 year old winter coat. i wonder if the groomer has ways to get it off. i thought about shaving her. but i hate that thought. poor thing looks matted now. boy cat has been cleaning non-stop since yesterdays bath. he doesn't smell fresh anymore, got all that flea shampoo smell out (damn, he smelled so fresh, guess it was too much for his little nose).
lookin like the planetarium this weekend, it'll be raining all weekend, good time to be inside. for $5 i think you get to see all three shows. have cheese, need meat... for sandwiches this weekend. still have too much frozen fruit (for smoothies). i think it's sausage sandwiches for dinner tonight. and more zucchini.

well, this doesn't include the old sink in the picture, but you get the idea. nasty old counter gone! thinking about putting a board back there to cover up where the old sink back was. originally was thinking the blackboard paint would be best, because it would be usable, but the magnetic paint seems handy also. you know, leave messages or recipes or grocery lists right there. it was gunna be a shelf, but it would only be 3 inches deep and that would drive me nuts. i mean, what, it would hold...bottles of hot sauce? i think the board would be more useful (if that magnetic paint is strong enough). if not, there is always cork board to use there for a message board.

lessee, still have a bunch of staple food been trying to go thru (along with a filled, mysterious-contented-freezer).
cabinet pasta: some of that tri-colour veggie pasta, between 1 1/2 and 2 cups dry...cook it while cooking 2 turkey sausage patties(1/3 lb) in a separate pan. to the turkey sausage (1lb in a tube from walmart), when it's not pink anymore: add a can (i had 'no salt added') crushed tomatoes, i also added some re hydrated garlic and onions, salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp basil, 1 mutant zucchini diced, and 1-3 tsp Worcestershire. cook (covered) 10 minutes to make sure zucc cooked. dump meat mixture on top noodles, mix. put on top 1/4 cup mozzarella and sprinkling of parmesan.
a third dahlia bloom. this one, same plant, is yellow with white tips, the others where all yellow.
there will be a butterfly counting deal at one of my parks, later this month (if interested, check parks near you, this is the month they will be participating if they are participating). butterfly census to help track where they go and who goes and all that. i really want to do it. it is an all day thing, though. today was the day to go to an identification class to be more prepared on the counting day. but my neck is still a bit stiff, i just really don't like the idea of trying to drive when neck doesn't have full range of motion. it's all good, though!
enter the dragon tonight, amc, be there. huuuuuuuuuwaaaahhhhhh
and a belated birthday on xanga to my hunni mon. we had an awesome, quiet, early breakfast at ihop. hm got useful presents...camp flashlight, shirt, compass, palm, neck jewelry and crazy iced lemonaide gum.

no ability to upload pics yet. just happy to have the kitchen again and have another improvement to the house (so new owners won't have to do it). seriously having to think about getting 1 or 2 window unit a/c's, mini countertop dishwasher would be a luxury. wrong place wrong time again. ended up a little bent over looking at my plants, while hm was closing garage door. my upper back/shoulder is internally bruised. neck all stiff. maybe it will get rid of the previous neck condition i had. and noticed this morning, i left the water drizzling out from watering some plants in back yesterday. WHO KNOWS how much of the neighborhood i watered. so that was 3 bad things(j,n,w) that happened lately, i should be clear for a bit, now, right?

the window tinting finished, leftover for another window.
repotted both peppers(8), and tomatoes(4). branch cuttings have sprouted(3). eggplants almost ready for new pots(3).
big bike ride wednesday and rode down to city hall to find out how the front yard parking situation is. went to water, they sent me to regulations and inspections. first woman in there told me go to the police. then i asked, well, is there anyone i can talk to about building a fence? sent me to dude across the way. he told me, technically (except in special instances) there are no front fences in this area of town. he said the pipes were probably far enough down that i wouldn't have to worry about that, but they are trespassing (and going to ruin the yard)so, talk to them first. if that doesn't work you'll have to call the police. eventually if it keeps happening, citation/fine and last possible thing...for some one to go to jail. that would suck!
counter tops have come in!!! probably put them in tonight. looks like we did good with measurements and they'll fit! before and after pics 'nother time. finally rented the third crow movie. ran into an aluminum stair and wounded jeep fender. last weekend: was surprised with donuts and a visit to longue vue (house&)gardens, lots of pictures. rescued a toad from a fountain but had gone back in by the time i'd passed by again. was thinking about volunteering there...just not a good week to think about it
most volunteers get in for 8am, i'd want to go in earlier, so maybe the gardeners get there even earlier...
getting there with the sewin' machine. made a first shirt. ehck. but it is probably comfy enough for sitting in the car on vacation. i'm really hard on myself. i need to smack that outta me.

kid safe shop-live animals and pictures from the journal, baby items included.
dead zoo-things either dead or a couple items reminiscent of the comic book. they are already listed off to the right. some are kind of cheesy cuz i didn't modify the pictures....by adding funny captions or softening the edges and stuff, i was just dying to see the dead animal collection.
hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
for some of us it's a 3-dayer. my mil is coming over monday to show me how to use the sewing machine. she told me she didn't have to, she could just send the manual in the mail...i was like "NO! i'll end up with thread and knots everywhere!!! we'll bbq!"
vintage patterns for sale, also Butterick, Simplicity, Bonfit America, McCalls Patterns.
i couldn't resist any longer.
i finally decided to mess with my cafe press shops. have a dead zoo page and other pictures i've taken in another shop. some are kinda cheesy, but i couldn't stop giggling (dead rat on a mousepad; dead bird on a wall clock, time flies; graveyard picture on a calendar)). uploaded more pictures today, so still tweaking items...

how death's garden grows
when i was in 1st grade (or so), i was in a play. it had all the popular childrens rhymes in it. had a cold and couldn't get anyone to listen to me, that i needed kleenex before i performed. had to wipe my nose with my sleeve (which you're always told NOT to do) and i would suck it down, back into my throat cuz i was crying over not being able to get relief. as soon as the play was over and mother came to the stage i sobbed "CAN I PLEASE HAVE A TISSUE NOW?!!!" i was mary.
Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

zucchini
tomatoe

caladium sprout and pineapple
eggplant and dahlia

not included are the other decorative plants and the potatoes. oops and the bell peppers and jalapenos...they don't look as great.
can you believe i had the peppers and the other peppers and the zucc all together in the zucc washtub. neither can i, glad i transplanted when i did!!! i have two little tomatoe plants i got from clippings off the big ones. maybe i am getting a green thumb.
stoopy poopy counter top people....they LIED. they said it would not make a difference that we had to choose another formica because the one they originally let us pick was discontinued. we won't get it til next week. so i'll do tomorrows post today.
and i can't believe, if i were a font, i'd be wingdings. i forgot the weblink, sorry. it said i was weird. i'm not weird! i mean it isn't offensive of a word or anything, but seriously, weird is a murderer, you know...

over here over there

forgot to mention i got this toy over the weekend. i thought it was a big rock of candy, you break it open to get the skull inside. i stuck my tongue to it...thought, hmmmph, this is flour-y. so then i start to crack it open and take a little chunk. pop it in my mouth. i mumble something about pink chalk and hear laughter from another room. i ate chalk. i thought it was sweet tart-like candy. oops
broke down and made zucchini bread. it was raining, the only time to be able to turn off a/c during this time of year until like november. after messing with a recipe and then doing it, i temporarily get recipes stuck in my head. threw the last of the granola and almost the rest of the golden raisins in it. was trying to finish the rest of my all-purpose and wheat flours, too.
ok, in one bowl put your 1 3/4 cup flour, 1tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp powdered cloves, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 3/4 tsp salt (if using self-rising flour, omit baking soda and baking powder), mix.
in the another bowl: cream 1/3 cup shortening with 1 1/3 cup sugar. add 2 eggs, about 1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini (about one zucchini, if zucc small, you may need another), 1 tsp vanilla, 1/3 cup water, stir well.
add the flour mixture in 1/3rd (of the bowl) at a time. add some nuts (i like walnuts, 1/3 cup) and/or raisins (or other fruit, 1/3 cup) if desired. spray bottom only of pan.
350 degrees for almost an hour if not a tad longer than an hour. it made a big loaf, but i kept thinking it would burn, it totally didn't, came out perfect!!! i think this recipe would work well as a banana bread, pumpkin bread, and with applesauce, i am thinking applebread. this is very moist. i lined the pan with foil and sprayed the bottom. this sucker kept warm on the oven with another piece foil sealing it, for a couple hours. (which means s. finally got some fresh homemade bread)!

now i must hurry up and gett off-line cuz the counter top people should be calling for a delivery anytime!
