  • can i have some groceries with those bags?

yeah, got a work weekend this weekend. ripping out old counter top in kitchen and the ancient sink, and hopefully both porch roofs will be worked on. picked up some fresh veggies to dip (peppers, radish, broccoli, baby carrots) and some chips and salsa. gunna do steak and mushrooms on the grill. checked out fresh pineapple. wow, what a texture and taste difference (from the can)! ran out of butter last week, so the latest adventure is to ween myself off butter. doin' pretty good (haven't bought butter yet). picked up some green tea with lotus in it, some plain green tea and some darjeeling. and more of that nestle coffee stuff, we mainly drink it as a shake, all frosty.

went to clark creek, in mississippi this past weekend (about 3 hours from new orleans). they have waterfalls. first picture is from on top and the bigger version of this picture shows ripples way down at the bottom where the water goes.

and this second picture appears grotto-y. it really isn't. but the trails are cool cause you can take stairs to get down to the end of the waterfall and the main trails take you to the top of the waterfall. it was very hot, we will go again when it is way cooler. and i won't lose my hat and have to chug back half the trail and then go back to where i left sean. HUFFPUFF, i was turning colours.

as leaving, we forgot to get a picture of the jackass crossing sign, but here they are. all cute. that front one actually looked alarmed that i got out of the car to take a picture.

were given a cotton candy machine for our anniversary (thx jax). we tried it twice, and i have already packed it away. sean and i both think it is very creepy (we like it). you heat the machine up, then a teaspoon of sugar, then all of a sudden you vaguely see spiderweb looking formations, so you twirl them onto the cone. it's crazy!

i trimmed too many leaves off the squash, but looks ok, there is a squash flower, so everything must be ok. i haven't gotten lady bugs, so the aphids keep eatting the jalapeno flowers off. the bell peppers are resistant, but growing slow like the tomatoes. the potatoes seem fine, i probably need to get some more soil to mound up. have the pineapple crown drying so i can plant that too! and the eggplants, all three seeds decided to sprout, so i have to finish transplanting.

  • there was a study about how it's better to have a pet reduce your stress/anxiety. if you cannot have a pet, it's better to be alone than with a friend, because of the potential critisism.

another study that was done, about the effects of chemicals in tea. they say that they managed to single-out and prescribe these chemicals to a group of people. it was proven (5 cups a day) that the group of people did not get sick (it boosts immune system). a search on other good news about tea.

this senator dude, what an idiot. you don't accept relationships without accepting acts. and to correlate it to bigamy and incest COME ON! he's a phobe.

been sucking on chock full 'o nuts instant coffee all week. since i wouldn't go to the grocery for the gfic. makes me think of old-time camping when the coffee tasted like mud. this kinda still does. almost out of the sleepy green tea (i accidentally bought caffine free).

made chicken pot pie this week. can of mixed veggies, drained, can of condensed cream of chicken, mix those. plop mixture in pie pan. mix up a cup of bisquick with 1/2 cup milk. smooth over the top of veggie mixture. bake about 400 for 25 minutes or until golden (toothpick stuck in bisquit top comes out clean). serves about 4. you can sprinkle added seasoning on top to make it look nice (paprika or a season-all or pepper powder, etc). one day i will master a homemade bisquick powder conncoction, it's something like a teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 tsp oil per every cup flour. i have almost 500 betty crocker points!!!

mysterious plant in front, i believe it is the hybrid oriental lily. it has a friend in the garden on the other side of the stairs.

the rose bush is dying, well, it's pretty much dead, it just hasn't all brittled up yet. the squash plants seem the happiest. tomatoe flowers bloomed first, bell peppers now and waiting on jalapeno buds to get bigger.

for easter we found an EGG plant kit. it's a small fruit of the eggplant family. have it started in it's egg-shaped terrarium. not into eggplants, willing to try.

wound still going away. when it was swollen i couldn't move certain facial muscles. now the swelling is going down, it REALLY hurts to make faces. forehead especially hurts because i raise my brows a whole heck-of-a-lot more than i thought. and going outside to water the plants my eyes and forehead scrinch up...pain. hunni picking up aspercream (if they still make it). neck is still giving issues. today i dug the tigerbalm out the drawer to see if it would help my neck. no. feel the spicey heat, though. discovered the TBalm expiration date is this june.

i am not good at taking it easy. i should have been plastered to the couch with an icepack and aspirin all week. my plants would have died!!! garbage would have piled up. dirty clothes would have been all over. dishes would have stunk (we don't have a dishwasher!!!). and couldn't resist painting the outside back door before the rain comes. i won't mow the lawn this week, that's how i'm taking it easy.

ok, and one last list of things to do on the house:

    • new front porch roof
    • new back porch roof
    • finish painting doors
    • insulation on bottom of house
    • bedroom prep and paint
    • kitchen countertop

that's it. we were supposed to have it all finished by last month but we been screwing around and getting hung up on technical problems of each job.

  • i'm so puffed up. i feel like...a manatee. in this picture, day 2, it isn't that noticable but there are purple bruises forming in corners of my eyes toward nose.and i am starting to appear cross-eyed. i hope it isn't permanent.

i refuse to go in public like this. not because of the way i look, but the way i feel. puffy. when i bend down or whatever, the blood rushed to the mound on my fo-head EEEEEouch. and did i mention i am a face-maker, so it has been a painful road trying not to make faces.

  • ever watch animaniacs...goodnews/badnews? those are great.

    good new bad news.

seanunnaturalenvironmentgood news, we may not have gone camping, but we did go on some excursions...so i got pictures. went for a drive, visited beach, ate lunch @ beach, walking trail @ buccaneer state park, icecream, tooled around the house, made eggs, visited riverfront (top picture of purple flowers and crack), fastfood, and got the cats to take a nap together.

    myfeetseagulllinair

yes, no trip with me, whether just on the bike or elsewhere, none available without dead animals. dolphin and small shark.

bad news... i ought to be nominated for the jack ass awards.

i picked up a chair this weekend, angrily, and managed to hit myself SQUAWR in the face. what a dooffuss, huh? the progression is below. l-r

    rightwhenithappenedday1day1day2day2

goodnews it doesn't hurt as bad as i thought it would.

badnews i can't make faces. it hurts when i do. i look like an alien.

  • anyone watch southpark? nuts. today was yellow day. yellow rice with yellow chicken and yellow squash. sipping coffee not tea

toy box full. weird smell in house. putrid. checked under house. checked back 3 rooms. oven, cabinets, sink. can't find anything rotting. it has that smell. saw the big rat again this morning. a movie with alec baldwin was being shot in new orleans today(thursday). bike ride. cut grass. water water water plants.

  • and then jax picked me up while she did groceries (for lunch). and then she whisked away after i gave her some cocnut milk i'd bought and realised i'd never use any time soon. the baby slept the entire time. he had had his shots today and some motrin. he was OUT! he eats the most expensive formula at walmart too. i only say that cause she pointed it out to me...and knowing his dad ...well, we'll just say that's funny. was that the quickest you made it thru groceries jax? (she gave me the list cause we realised i knew were everything was) they have the coolest constellation material and some hawaiian flower type material there. i think it's gunna be turkey sausage burger melts...with bell pepper strips? cheated last night. gatussos' sloppy roast beef and fries. and the muffins, banana nut and chocolate nut. ok, well, i guess i still have to bring those movies back (prcs. mononoke and ghost in the shell).

score! yes, had to go shopping again this morning. picked up a tent, two chairs and 2 sleeping bags in a kit. LAST ONE IN STORE $60 !!! grabbed some azalea food, some individual sobe green teas for hunni, picture frames, crazy velcro rollers, shampoo to go with the exrtra conditioner here at the house, couple more rolling pots, oh and some old spice refresh napkins. i didn't really expect to spend $105. and renewed my premium today i really enjoy keeping my small photos here instead of linking all the way from earthlink. now if i could get rid of earthlink bill... too bad XANGA doesn't include dial-up with it's premium ;-D   and hunni bunni bought more bug killer last night.....i wish i could have held my horses, biglots had LOTS of bug spray.

  • 12:12pm ...went to the garden center. this is my first time with veggies. except for that time i got a jalepino pepper plant and planted it in the back and i guess the bugs got it one day cause it died. so this time i grabbed some tomatoe, squash (zucchini), jalepino and green bell pepper, $5. picked up a metal tub...but once getting the plants into the tub and this other pot, realised those containers are probably not big enough and i'll have to replant. but i knew i couldn't leave them in the itty bitty containers they had outgrown. the planter on the left has 4 tomatoes and a bell pepper plant. the tub has everything else.

so i also got some outdoor white paint for when we get to sanding and painting the outside doors. and picked up a toy box for all the cats' toys. which i can't seem to find them all...sean, did you toss the bag of string-things? right now the toys are behind a chair. i'bve been looking for just the perfect thing to put thier toys in. i believe this basket will do.

i believe crash likes it too. whenever he gets out of it, i can get on with it!

    8:42am

food steps above. bathroom pics below.

and the 12 inch wooden snake.

thinking about going down to this garden center today. stuff like that just isn't fun by myself. i hate shopping. i mean, usually if sean and i go shopping, we talk about shit. when i go places alone...it isn't the same. but anyways, yeah, i wanna try and get tomatoes and bellpeppers and stuff. they have herbs, but i have like ancient bottled ones i am trying to use first.

and correction, i said monokoke, i meant mononoke.

  • ok, you know how you're at a stoplight, waiting to turn right. well isn't it crap when you are about to take your eyes off  of on coming traffic, that is slowing, and look at the light (to see if it is green yet) and before you can go, some idiot honks thier horn at you cause they obviously don't see you hopping off the brake quick enough. it didn't even save the lady an extra second. i mean, cause i am not just gunna barrel into the road, i am gunna lift off the gas, stop fully, look around to see who and why i was honked at, look at traffic again and then go. she LOST an extra second by startling me. stupid stupid stupid.

anyways. finally got MY digital camera back. we gave the sis-in-law her b-day pres early (dig. cam), and sean told her one stipulation (LOLOLOL), that we wanted our old dig. cam back. (it fits in my pocket when i go bike riding, other does not). it is VERY light sensitive(has tendancy to take dark pictures). it has a swivel deal unlike the ones they make now. and it has a 10 second timer (i love to set it up with a group shot of people, count down and then tell everyone 'say cheese!').

oh, i think one of the people i read. they said something about things to do today, reminded me of the stuff i want to do today. sand these snakes sean and i made/cut out. folk art to sell!!! after they get sanded i'll decide on how to finish/paint them.

oh! and finally got to see princess monokoke. tres cool! 'tickatickaticka'

i'm feeling bad today. and happy. that's rare. and good

and today, gunna try making chicken enchilada pasta!!! i'm using canned stuff again cause i still don't have a tomatoe plant going . ok. so i am gunna try and do it this way. while the chicken is still pretty darn cold, i'm gunna cut it into bite size slices.

in a pan i will put some onions(1/4-1/2 cup) and chopped (or sliced, your preferrence) bell peppers(1/4-1/2 cup) to saute. add chicken. add canned crushed tomatoes (i'm using salt-free today-14.5 oz). add seasoning/packet (enchilda packet (start with half the packet then add to taste) or just throw some garlic, red pepper, onion powder, cumin, cilantro, and flour together to make about 1/4 cup) and add 1/2 can your choice beans (i'm using black). stir and let simmer til the chicken is cooked.

while the pasta is cooking (i'm using linguine), slice some tortilla into strips, like the linguine. toast it just a little just to make it cripsy. pasta on plate, add pan mixture. dollup with sourcream, cheese, any other fixins you like (green onions). and you can make a little chili puree, add some chilipowder (i am using straight hatch chili powder-just pepper in it) to some thinned tomatoe paste. to drizzle on top if all isn't hot enough for ya. add jalepinos too! and top with the crisp tortilla strips. sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

now the semolina version also has a few bits of corn and hominy simmered with the rest, but i'm not opening whole cans of those just for 1/8th cup each from the can. pictures tomarrow...if it comes out right, ok, well, even if it doesn't!

  • blackamarillisorange

sidetopwent to tjmaxx and marshalls instead

found a picture, teapot, yoga mat, garden book.

    s. found a chinese lion, dad day gift, found an early holiday gift for my mother, measuring cups. had honeyed chicken!

found a plant in front garden. not sure whether it's a weed i missed or one of the bulb/root plants i planted. it's not fuzzy stemmed like the weeds. thinking about free movie from blockbuster coupon.

  • i almost forgot, ok i did forget, so i came back. to post the picture of the yellow cake with choc. icing i have been craving. actually craving it for many years now. just never got around to making it til now. it was good, but i should have put all the icing on it. i'll have to put extra frosting on it one serving at a time time

shiftyclawfuljust finished watching/running across 20 women in faerie dresses ice skating to a song from nightmare before x-mas.

there's gunna be a new animated movie out!!! sinbad (...and his adventures or somesuch)!!!!!!!

ok, so i shoulda had the music question be which album. actually i like a lot of the songs equally but the test made me pick one answer that had the highest score. if i had to pick an album, that would still be hard. but because it is a double size album, i'd pick physical graffiti. my favoritest song for a very very long time was good times bad times. the song remains the same is double size too, but the lengths of the songs are long. i love the wanton song also. custard pie, misty mountain hop, nobodys fault but mine, boogie w/ stu, hotdog, bonzo's montreaux (yes, moby dick, too).

openlavenderroseshopefully it will be great weekend. i know there must still be tons of things we've been putting off around the house/fix-it list. it's been too dark for me to get a good picture of the bathroom upstairs, it's finished! there's even a hanging plant up there and another plant in the window. we just need a mediterranian landscape picture to really bring it home!
