up at 3am this morning thinking about how much crap was probably in my email box. and being hungry.
got a bunch of crazy quilt squares made with all the scraps i been saving since before i had a sewing machine (and some since before i had real fabric, shreds of old clothes). fooled with the yarn a bit. he made dinner. gazpachio (fasc). cold soup. i need red meat.

took most of the bread from the freezer (ends and onesies and such), made it into croutons. thinking about making a casserole with cream soup, the croutons and i dunno what else yet, i was just thinking how good stove top would b in a casserole... making chili tonight. they have cooked ground meat now (like the tuna in the foil envelopes), making chili with it tonight and bought some chili seasoning that donates to a bird fund.
decided a tour of the house was too tough to photograph without taking pictures of each wall in each room, so decided to sorten the tour to just a bit of decor.

first four are from the first room (tv room).
a second room shelf. and the monkeys, hmbunni and a boomerrang in the computer room.
a few of the kitchen. one of the laundry corner in the back room (notice we are running out of room for stuff in the house-see it stacked). the stairs to the up-it makes you think of a boat- i love it, it will be the one thing about this house i will really be sad to not have any longer.

With the croutons, layer ground beef in the bottom of a casserole, top with a veggie if you want, then the croutons, mix the soup with some water/milk and maybe even cheese then bake. I haven't made it in awhile, but it's yummy. I have lasagna planned for tonight but i might have to next week. love your house tour too. thanks for the peek
ACTUALLY. i was planning on getting out my huge mixing bowl and mixing everything in the casserole together then dumping in pan.
that would be good too...any meat would be good with it actually, pork or chicken even.
i think the dome loft will be so cool that you forget all about our boat bedroom

i wasn't even thinking about the meat yet.... the chili i am making has nothing to do with the crouton casserole
Love the decor!
I hope that ground meat tastes okay. I've never thought about making croutons out of bread. I just buy them and then they sit in the cabinet and get stale.
I'm building an addition on our house now. The stairs to the upstairs room look similar to your pic. The steps are a little step, but they suffice. We're wall-to-wall with "stuff" and we need some extra room, well, extra 2 rooms.
well, i have to say right now that from what i can see in the photos, i like your decor. seriously.
how did you do the croutons? i experimented with that with some leftover bread a long while back but so totally didn't like my results. then again, i was trying to add seasoning and i think the method wasn't the best. hrm.
Thanks. I used actual olive oil, so I think it was just way too much. And then you get extra grease quotient when you're done. Gonna try it again - I have this Tuscan herb mix that I really like and think I'll try.
By the way... if you enjoy Bible-y movies, then I think you'll appreciate The Passion. Mel specifically said that he didn't want to preach, he just wanted to tell the story. I think he did a good job of achieving that. So if you go in knowing that the content is related to a religion, but totally secure in your own beliefs, I don't think you'll come out with a negative experience. Besides - there's a shot towards the end that, when the camera pulls back into a long shot, is blocked and feels just like a painting by one of the great masters. I think you'd like that.
Of the people who claim it's preachy or anti-semitic, I'd say they either a) haven't seen it and are going by the negative comments that are all over the place or b) are the kind of people that don't want to have anything to do with anything remotely religious and *always* feel people are trying to convert them.
