  • it's finished. finally finished. for the last few weekends we've been smoothing out upstairs bedroom walls for painting. it's a blue colour. i'd be glad to never have to deal with spackle dust for the rest of my life. but that won't happen. then couldn't find any of our sheet sets. had to break down and buy another set this morning. they're like a tan with a brown grid (under the quilt and weaved blanket. we also broke down and rearranged the room. i have a nightstand again. and a 'my side of the bed'! i'd cleaned the house earlier this week, then this weekend, the whole house got mussed up with the whole bedroom ordeal (i don't know either, just happens) i managed to lose control of the clothing situation too.


    the double broiler bottom pan and lid either got tossed or loaned out, so he wasn't able to make blancmange (the type of pudding). tried to locate one that wasn't too expensive...even kmart didn't have one. martha stewart has taken over that store. if she doesn't make it, then they don't see fit to sell it. sucky.


    also at the store this morning, while getting the sheets, i picked up some dark chocolate covered cherries. they are a wonderful thing.


    making brownies again. melt 4 1/2 TBSP of cocoa with 6 TBSP butter. add 1/2 cup sugar, 1cup light brown sugar (if i were in a bind, i'd just use regular sugar here, too), 1 cup flour, 2 eggs (healthier with 4 whites whipped instead, but i'm lazy), 1 tsp vanilla, then 1/2 c nuts and 1/2 c chips (your choice of flavor)(or just 1 cup nuts, no chips). cook in a greased and floured 9x9 @ 350 for 25-30 minutes.


    ha ha ha ha ha i went through 4 needles bending and breaking on the sewing machine before i realised i'd accidentally left the setting on zig zag and when i pushed the position setting to the right, it went further left. kachung kachunk snap.

  • Yeah, that dust is a pain.  Yum, brownies.  Makes me think of that big ol' brownie from Saturday.  That was good.

    I got a toaster oven!!! (my regular one is broken, but the top works so i can't justify replacing the entire thing till i kill the top part of become miraculously wealthy lol) I can now bake things again!!! The thing i've stuck on the last two days has been biscuits. mmmmm biscuits. I found a quickbread recipe that uses mayo instead of eggs and oil, very good stuff :D If you want the recipe lemme know and i'll email it :)

    Odd how Americans aspire to BE Homer Simpson.  mmmm... aspire.....

    I have a deal with my $10 yard sale sewing machine.  It agrees to work, if I agree to use it sparingly.

  • i have to register my complaint. I love you're site and the pictures.... but they are always so small i can't make them out! it's slightly discouraging...
