it's not until i go through the pictures that i remember all that has gone on.
had an hour or so long adventure with a lizard in the house. went to make liquid lunch. as leaving counter for fridge to get milk, saw the lizard. tried to get him to bring him outside. he ran. went into the cabinet. i opened the cabinet and tried to get him in a container. he jumped on me not in the container. then he jumps off and scurries across the kitchen to the other counter. crash saw him. crash pounces. in horror, i yell "NO!" grab the cat, the lizard wedges himself down by the baseboard. i get a toothpick. again, he avoids the container and runs right into the cat. the cat brings him up 3 rooms to the front of the house. i realise he took off with the lizard in his mouth, so i go chase him. he goes to go behind the sofa. i grab his tail. he drops the lizard. then he starts trying to find it again. i look behind the sofa, see the tail squirming around by itself. think "yae, the lizard got away". the cat is struggling to get out from behind the couch. when he finally jumps over the back to the front, i see his mouth is funny looking. he has the lizard. i'm feeling really bad for the lizard by this time. i shout 'no' again and grab the cat (he spits out lizard) i toss cat in bathroom to tend to lizard. finally get lizard in container. it's not looking good. at one time liz ended up on back and didn't make effort to right himself. i plop him outside (above picture). did not see him later. i think he is ok.
also made another 'whatevayagot' soup. ham bone (from last year) and 8 cups water to make the base. hatch pepper(2 tsp), bellpeppers(1/4 cup), squash(1/4 cup), peas(1/2 cup), carrots(1/4 cup), crushed tomatoes(2 cups), seasoned lo mein noodles(about 2 cups), eggplant(one itty bitty), garlic(tbsp), onion(tbsp) and left over baked beans(1/4 cup). almost all from freezer. took 2 cups of the liquid from soup for broth to throw in freezer. believe it's been a year i been trying to empty out the freezer?! soon!

got rid of banana pops finally, made smoothies this past weekend, had left over, made smoothie pop. sloppy joe yesterday. ooops, have no idea what for today. chili.....

The great lizard adventure.
Yeah, it has been a long time that you've been talking about cleaning out your freezer. It should be empty soon.
i see the little guy is trying to supervise the cooking... bet he was telling you to put lizard in the soup!
oh man...poor 'lil lizard
Hey I was gonna make chili today too!!
Oh man, poor lizard! He looks like a Cuban Anole. I'm sure he's okay, they're pretty hardy.
Oh, I've got the bread maker set so that I'll have some cheese bread all hot and ready (that sounds nasty) by the time I get home. Tomorrow I'm taking the leftovers of the last three bread mixes and making a whatevayagot bread. Who knows if it'll turn out. It'll be like Frankenstein bread.
jj.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. i think your bread will be muy delicioso.
mix and match instead of haste and waste.
there are a couple other recipes in fannie farmer. dunno if you come back to read comments or not...
i used to love this (boston) brown bread (quickbread-rye, cornmeal, wheat, molasses, sourmilk)in a can when i was younger, that recipe is in there. it goes in a pudding mold or a coffee can(fill container only 2/3 full) and is steamed to cook in a pan of water. about 2 hours @300. i never make it. my mom used to, though, i think, unless that was sent to us by a relative. i have some store-bought right now, i been having it for about 2 years, with raisins in it. it's in a can like vegetables. i bought a whole bunch while in the mood and then i got out of the mood
there is also a 'third bread' (yeast bread-1 cup rye, 3 cups white, 1 cup yellow cornmeal, molasses).
