  • and happy fri tha 13

double hitter winner on tuesday!!! only bread type of item left in the house was tortilla flour mix. made some meat bean and cheese stuffed pockets (about equal parts: black bean, colby cheese, roastbeef, your choice of seasoning). for dessert to go with the left over icecream, i stuffed some smaller pockets with peach, sugar and cinnamon. once assembled (see pic.s above), spray cookpan with canola, put pocket in thurr, spray top with canola. place lid on top (to help make sure filling gets warmed up good enough to melt cheese), 1-2 minutes each side, til you know it's crispy and not doughy anymore. wednesday i tried it again with ground turkey, cheese and beens. i liked it better with the sliced beef...was like a philly cheese steak but without the onion.

yup, we got several caterpillars and ripe tomatoe and pepper.

caladium had a bloom, the dahlias have about 5. the azaleas up front died.

this for hunnimon(hm), pic of his slanted girl out on the porch.

natural pesticides i keep reading about, they don't seem to work for the gnat flies i got in my house a while back...but it's something like put in a spray bottle: some liquid soap, garlic. i put in onion and cayenne too, which is why i mumbled about it, i also use my spray bottle to cool off male cat temper, he ended up smelling like stew for a week. supposedly the soap make the bugs go 'ew' and everyone knows garlic keeps everything away i have been having issues with slugs, and spidey and her hm told me that the slug bait they found was non-toxic/organic, look forward to finding and trying it. the slugs attack the dahlias, other flowery things and the potatoes. some of their damage looks like the caterpillar damage, but you can see slime trails.

great weekend wishes, happy d-day, clocks by coldplay(song that keeps going thru my head all week). that's right.

i've been adjusting mail accounts to get people to unsub me from these various mailing lists that OTHER people end up giving my address to. i have opted for putting up a vacation( /this is a defunct address, don't email it) responce and it's actually working to get people to take me off lists(i thought it would be just the opposite, but i have have had significantly less email since i have done this! speaking of which...anyone know a joshua hendrix (beamman3@yahoo.com)? or his betsy? tell that bitch to stop writing me, this is what was sent to one of my mail accounts:

    hear that lonesome whipperwill
he sounds to blue to fly
the midnight train is whinning low
im so lonesome i could cry

ive never seen a night so long
    when time goes crawling by
the moon just waits behind a cloud
to hide its face and cry

did you ever hear a robin weap?
    when leaves begin to die?
that means hes lost the will to live
im so lonesome i could die

the silence of a fallen star
    lights up a purple sky
as i wonder where you are
im so lonesome i could cry
the words from this song are
50 years old but i cry evertime
i hear them betsy i love you bye.

it's not on me. he who made graphics hath fixed them. love not lost. love not free. i love you but u not me. we all enjoy to be. who we are with individuality.

  • mmmm crashy stew

  • That food looks really REALLY good!  *drool*

My vet recommended sprinkling cayenne pepper on things I didn't want my cat to bother, and cat nip on the things I wanted to encourage the cat to play with.

Have you tried planting marigolds for your gnats?  They won't really get rid of them, but they should be attracted to the marigolds and avoid your other plants.  Or, at least, that's what I've been told.

  • the stuff you make always looks incredibly good.  with the tomatoes...my mom always picked hers right when they were starting to turn, and brought them in the house, and laid them out in a single layer in pans and box flats to ripen.  they still tasted like they were vine ripened.  and bugs wouldnt get to them, cuz once they turn they really attract the worms and other bugs.

  • Huh, I never knew that about the marigolds.  That's a good looking pepper.  I thought they were green. I guess Bri musta told you about the organic slug stuff because I don't know about that.  I know if you pour salt on them it kills them.

  • yeah, salt does kill them, but i am not up during the early am hours when they hit the hardest.....

  • I'm up in the early am, if I see 'em, I'll asSALT 'em for you!  Hehe!

I wonder what's up with the email?

  • as SALT ...hahahahahahahahah thanks
