  • well, this doesn't include the old sink in the picture, but you get the idea. nasty old counter gone! thinking about putting a board back there to cover up where the old sink back was. originally was thinking the blackboard paint would be best, because it would be usable, but the magnetic paint seems handy also. you know, leave messages or recipes or grocery lists right there. it was gunna be a shelf, but it would only be 3 inches deep and that would drive me nuts. i mean, what, it would hold...bottles of hot sauce? i think the board would be more useful (if that magnetic paint is strong enough). if not, there is always cork board to use there for a message board.

lessee, still have a bunch of staple food been trying to go thru (along with a filled, mysterious-contented-freezer).
cabinet pasta: some of that tri-colour veggie pasta, between 1 1/2 and 2 cups dry...cook it while cooking 2 turkey sausage patties(1/3 lb) in a separate pan. to the turkey sausage (1lb in a tube from walmart), when it's not pink anymore: add a can (i had 'no salt added') crushed tomatoes, i also added some re hydrated garlic and onions, salt and pepper to taste 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp basil, 1 mutant zucchini diced, and 1-3 tsp Worcestershire. cook (covered) 10 minutes to make sure zucc cooked. dump meat mixture on top noodles, mix. put on top 1/4 cup mozzarella and sprinkling of parmesan.

a third dahlia bloom. this one, same plant, is yellow with white tips, the others where all yellow.

there will be a butterfly counting deal at one of my parks, later this month (if interested, check parks near you, this is the month they will be participating if they are participating). butterfly census to help track where they go and who goes and all that. i really want to do it. it is an all day thing, though. today was the day to go to an identification class to be more prepared on the counting day. but my neck is still a bit stiff, i just really don't like the idea of trying to drive when neck doesn't have full range of motion. it's all good, though!

enter the dragon tonight, amc, be there. huuuuuuuuuwaaaahhhhhh

and a belated birthday on xanga to my hunni mon. we had an awesome, quiet, early breakfast at ihop. hm got useful presents...camp flashlight, shirt, compass, palm, neck jewelry and crazy iced lemonaide gum.

Owwie on the garage door.  Did ya milk it for some sympathy??  You know a back rub, neck rub??  I would have

  • Yeah, that countertop makes the whole kitchen look brighter.  Your neck, my back this week.  We're the pain twins.  Hope you feel better soon.  That dahlia is really pretty.

  • new kitchen YAY!

    birthday YAY!

    pasta, flowers, butterflies YAY!

Enter The Dragon YAY! and I will hold you to that!

  • Wow!  The kitchen counter looks great.  It really changes the whole room.  The sink looked like it only had one hole??  I am glad to hear that your plants are producing and that pasta dish sounds good.  I can relate to the neck think, I got a knot in my left shoulder that keeps rolling around and sending sharp pain to my neck.  I have tried a heating pad and a hot shower and neither have worked so I am just living with it.  Hope you enjoy the butterflies and I will talk to you later.

  • that looks awesome!

it's very easy to stick new tiles on.. we did it at our old house and it totally gave the kitchen a new look, plus it was a lot easier to clean

    love those daliahs!

  • actually, after living with plastic eggplant puke tiles in the kitchen and plastic baby blue tiles in the upstairs bathroom (which i ripped down when we remodeled the bathroom), i refuse to EVER go back to tiles. and if i were to do that, i would have to rip tiles down to get straight, yet still crooked edges. the board idea with some deco trim and eurothane will be good to clean.

  • dahlias are wicked
