there was a study about how it's better to have a pet reduce your stress/anxiety. if you cannot have a pet, it's better to be alone than with a friend, because of the potential critisism.
another study that was done, about the effects of chemicals in tea. they say that they managed to single-out and prescribe these chemicals to a group of people. it was proven (5 cups a day) that the group of people did not get sick (it boosts immune system). a search on other good news about tea.
this senator dude, what an idiot. you don't accept relationships without accepting acts. and to correlate it to bigamy and incest COME ON! he's a phobe.
been sucking on chock full 'o nuts instant coffee all week. since i wouldn't go to the grocery for the gfic. makes me think of old-time camping when the coffee tasted like mud. this kinda still does. almost out of the sleepy green tea (i accidentally bought caffine free).
made chicken pot pie this week. can of mixed veggies, drained, can of condensed cream of chicken, mix those. plop mixture in pie pan. mix up a cup of bisquick with 1/2 cup milk. smooth over the top of veggie mixture. bake about 400 for 25 minutes or until golden (toothpick stuck in bisquit top comes out clean). serves about 4. you can sprinkle added seasoning on top to make it look nice (paprika or a season-all or pepper powder, etc). one day i will master a homemade bisquick powder conncoction, it's something like a teaspoon of baking powder and 1/2 tsp oil per every cup flour. i have almost 500 betty crocker points!!!
mysterious plant in front, i believe it is the hybrid oriental lily. it has a friend in the garden on the other side of the stairs.
the rose bush is dying, well, it's pretty much dead, it just hasn't all brittled up yet. the squash plants seem the happiest. tomatoe flowers bloomed first, bell peppers now and waiting on jalapeno buds to get bigger.
for easter we found an EGG plant kit. it's a small fruit of the eggplant family. have it started in it's egg-shaped terrarium. not into eggplants, willing to try.

wound still going away. when it was swollen i couldn't move certain facial muscles. now the swelling is going down, it REALLY hurts to make faces. forehead especially hurts because i raise my brows a whole heck-of-a-lot more than i thought. and going outside to water the plants my eyes and forehead scrinch up...pain. hunni picking up aspercream (if they still make it). neck is still giving issues. today i dug the tigerbalm out the drawer to see if it would help my neck. no. feel the spicey heat, though. discovered the TBalm expiration date is this june.
i am not good at taking it easy. i should have been plastered to the couch with an icepack and aspirin all week. my plants would have died!!! garbage would have piled up. dirty clothes would have been all over. dishes would have stunk (we don't have a dishwasher!!!). and couldn't resist painting the outside back door before the rain comes. i won't mow the lawn this week, that's how i'm taking it easy.
ok, and one last list of things to do on the house:
- new front porch roof
- new back porch roof
- finish painting doors
- insulation on bottom of house
- bedroom prep and paint
- kitchen countertop
that's it. we were supposed to have it all finished by last month but we been screwing around and getting hung up on technical problems of each job.
- new front porch roof

oww, that looks painful. I hope for you that it is speedy road to full recovery. You DO need to take it easy. Man, I wonder what happened to the rose bush. my daisies are a pile of brown sticks and brown leaves now. wonder what happened to them. I don't think Dustin will mind, just have to ask. Or if you'll feel awkward asking him, I can for you. And that's great that your list is that small. I wish ours was.
I like 5 o'clock coffee myself
I hope that thing you did with the chair goes down soon.
Animals are the best.
I'm sooooo attached to our puppy now.... and he always makes a day brighter. Poor thing is at the vet's overnight
(
What kind of rose bush was it? If it wasn't an antique, have you considered trying those? They're wonderfully resilient.
oh and btw....
from one neck injury to another...
heating pad + Bextra=works wonders!
although I still use the Tiger Balm, just cuz I like its smell
If you're going to order antique roses from online, check out the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham, TX. They're really good at what they do, great quality, and I can't imagine they would be idiots if there was a problem with the order.
It's also possible to get clippings. I'm going to take a bunch of clippings off of mine after they bloom and start them. At that point, I could send them to you. It won't do you a lot of good for this season, though.
yeah, not to mention i have tried the whole trying to grow a clipping thing, even tried root tone.....i have not a greenus thumbus. maybe one day when we swing thru texas, whenever one of them clippings actually grow roots (another season), we could meet for lunch or something. hehehehehehe, if namaste is still working at a resturant at that time....we could go to his. we would pass thru on our way back home from vacation. so the plant would only have a 6 hour trip. other than that, i give up on the roses this year unless i am given one. it is just too depressing that everything i touch dies.
woh...you must have smacked yourself pretty hard if you've got bruises under your eyes..man
I'll start some clippings for you when we take ours. I need the practice on how to start them, but don't have a ton of places to put them (we've got a fair number of rose bushes). Great thing about these is that they thrive on neglect.
As for the seeds, if they're put into a ziploc baggie and kept in a dark, dry place, they should last at least a year or so. When I collect seed pods, I'll package some stuff and label 'em for you. You can take them with you and see how they do.
Haven't been around for awhile... stupid finals! -_-! Oh, tiger balm rules!! If you ever have a headache, try rubbing some on your temples. Heavenly!
And since it's all natural, it beats aspirin, Tylenol etc!
June ^_^
Just checking in to see if you updated on how Dom is doing. Let me know. I hope all went well.
